Few hopes of creating a 'natural and magical world' in Everwild

First look at Rare's new IP address

Rare has started work on their next game, a brand new property titled Everwild. The UK-based developer made the two-hour drive and change to London for the Xbox X019 event to show off its next project.

Everwild is led by Executive Producer Louise O'Connor, who has been with Rare since 1999. The development team aims to "[build] an experience that enables new ways to play in a natural, magical world." It also appears that Everwild is intended to be a social game, as Rare mentions that it wants to provide players around the world with "memorable, engaging, and rewarding experiences."

However, Rare isn't ready to get into the nitty-gritty of Everwild just yet. Rare says the game is currently in pre-production. The reveal trailer embedded above is all we're likely to see for the foreseeable future. Due to the timing, it's almost certain that Everwild is targeting the next-gen Project Scarlett for release.

Starting to ride Everwild doesn't mean Sea of Thieves has to walk the plank, though. Rare notes that he now has two big teams - one for each game - and that he plans to support Sea of Thieves "for a long time".
