    Hello in the village

Capcom has announced that the latest entry in the Resident Evil series, Resident Evil Village, will be showcased at this year's Tokyo Game Show (TGS), which takes place later this month.

Capcom revealed the news in a tweet earlier this morning, where the famed developer/publisher apologized to fans for the lack of information regarding the gothic horror sequel. Resident Evil Village will feature in a TGS presentation taking place on Sunday, September 27. The presentation will offer new details - and hopefully new images - regarding the eighth mainline entry in the survival horror franchise.

A subject of speculation for many months, Resident Evil Village was officially revealed during PlayStation's Future of Gaming presentation in June, with a trailer confirming the return of Resident Evil VII protagonist Ethan Winters, as well as an iteration troubled and gloomy from seemingly fallen. STARS the hero Chris Redfield.

The cinematic preview also gave fans their first look at the titular "village," a quaint, otherworldly place populated by strange and sinister townspeople, deformed society hostesses, and a creepy wolfman. Capcom rumormonger DuskGolem previously referenced Resident Evil Village's "dark and gruesome" tone, stating that the sequel's story beats are "dividing" and "screwed up."

Resident Evil Village is currently in development for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. The Tokyo Games Show 2022 will take place from September 23 to 27.
